ROCKWALL, TX (March 7, 2022) Rockwall ISD recently hosted the 6th annual Battle of the Books competition at the 3rd and 4th grade level and 5th and 6th grade level.
At the 3rd and 4th grade level, the Pullen Elementary team won the championship and Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary team was the runner-up.
At the 5th and 6th grade level, the Reinhardt team won the championship and the Shannon Elementary team was runner-up.
Third through sixth grade students at all 16 elementary campuses were given the opportunity to participate on a team and prepare for competition at the district level by reading selected books on the grade appropriate reading list. The elementary Library Media Specialist facilitated their campus teams this school year by selecting students for each team, making available the list of 10 books for required reading, and supporting students throughout the year as they read the books over a given period of time.
