ROCKWALL, TX (April 11, 2022) The Rockwall Butterfly Brigade – a volunteer group of gardeners who plant and maintain butterfly gardens in Rockwall’s city parks – will host the inaugural Tour of Gardens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23 (rain date April 30).

Parks that have a garden include Breezy Hill, Emerald Bay, Harry Myers, Hickory Ridge, Northshore, Pettinger Preserve, Shores, and Stone Creek (Meadow).

There will be intermittent five minute presentations at five of the parks, with literature given on how to start a pollinator garden or meadow and other timely topics. Go to any garden and receive a map to all the other ones.

Unique sculptures created by Rockwall ISD students will be installed this spring in the City’s butterfly gardens, as well as in San Jacinto Plaza and Lofland Park. The Art in Public Places project raises awareness of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge.
