Celebration of Life: Services for Jay Broderick, former Rockwall County Precinct Chair

ROCKWALL, TX (May 26, 2022) Doris “Jay” Jaylene Broderick, beloved former Rockwall County Precinct Chair, Rockwall County Republican Women’s Club President and local Republican grassroots volunteer, passed away last Saturday.  She will be remembered with great admiration and respect for her dedication to the Republican Party, her sweet smile and kindness to others, and her calm resolve and strength as a truly wonderful person in this community.

Doris “Jay” Jaylene Broderick, 83, of Fate, Texas, passed from this life on May 21, 2022. Jay was born to Jaye Marshall Shelton and Tommie Lurlynn (Ferguson) Shelton, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on February 8, 1939. Jay was a devoted wife and mother. She was a gifted writer of letters and poems. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and traveling. Jay worked as a Manager in the Materials Control Department for Vought Aerospace Company for 35 years before retiring.

Jay is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” J. Broderick; children: Josh Matthews and wife Patty, Danielle Ebeier and husband Chris, William Broderick; grandchildren: Megan Ebeier, Abby Ebeier, Jamie Hannah, Natalie Stockard, Josh Broderick, and Phillip Broderick; great-grandchildren: Aubrey Gagliardi, Jasper Stockard, Piper Stockard, Jenna Stockard, Ella Stockard, Alexis Hanna, Noah Hanna, Hazel Hanna; brother: Jaye Shelton, Jr. and wife Claudia; nieces: Laura Perez and husband Simon, Leslie Shelton; and a host of other cousins, friends and loved ones who will all miss her dearly. Jay is preceded in passing by her parents: Jaye and Tommie Shelton; and sister: Charlotte “Suzi” Mowell.

A memorial service to celebrate Jay’s life is to be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, beginning at 12:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Rockwall. The family will receive friends and loved ones preceding the service beginning at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.
