ROCKWALL, TX (May 23, 2022) Capturing Kids’ Hearts Founder Flip Flippen has announced Royse City ISD as a National Showcase District. This marks the third consecutive year that Royse City ISD has received this esteemed honor. Only 11 school districts in the United States were selected for 2021-2022.
Capturing Kids’ Hearts was first introduced to educators in Royse City ISD in 2003. Since then, district administrators have committed to investing in teacher training and growing a culture that is built on relationship building. As a result, students are greeted daily at each class and are encouraged to share good things happening in their lives. Knowing students on a personal level builds trust which can lead to better attendance, academic progress and a safer school environment.
“Capturing Kids’ Hearts is who we are in Royse City ISD. I am so proud of our campuses and hardworking educators and leaders for committing to the philosophies of CKH. We know that we cannot reach the minds of children without first reaching their hearts. It is truly all about building meaningful relationships with children that help them feel seen, loved and supported in their school journey from PreK to graduation,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “I’m thankful to the educators that started this journey in Royse City ISD almost 20 years ago and I’m proud to see it continue to flourish in our schools.”
To be eligible for this honor, every campus in the district must be nominated and later selected as a showcase campus. Teams of evaluators visit each campus to interview students, teachers, administrators and parents. They study the climate and culture of the school and its conduciveness to learning. Every campus in Royse City ISD has been named as a National Showcase School.
