First United Methodist Church of Heath announces new senior pastor

HEATH, TX (June 22, 2022) The First United Methodist Church of Heath is excited to announce that Reverend Sandy Heard will be serving as its senior pastor effective July 1, 2022.  Previously she served as an associate pastor at the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall.

Rev. Heard graduated from Rockwall High School in in 1996, after which she attended the University of Texas at Dallas where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  She also has a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Kansas State as well as a Master’s degree in Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU.

Prior to entering the ministry, Rev. Heard had a 17-year career in human resources with 10 of those years as a Director of Human Resources.  She has worked for MBNA, Bank of America, Home Depot and New Benefits, a health benefits company.

You can visit the First United Methodist Church of Heath (www.fumcheath.org) at 140 Smirl Drive.  Services begin at 10:30am with Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9:15am.
