Official Texas Pie Fest returns to Tate Farms in Rockwall this Saturday, June 18

Pie vendors from all over Texas selling pie, pie baking contest, pie eating contest, pie walk, pie throwing, pie fight and more

ROCKWALL, TX (June 14, 2022) Bonafide Betties Pie Co, voted Best Pies in Texas by USA Today in 2018, and Tate Farms, one of Rockwall County’s oldest working family farms join together to present the 3rd Annual Official Texas Pie Fest ~ which just so happens to land on International Picnic Day.

Pie vendors from all over Texas will be set up selling pie slices, whole pies, pie shakes, pie pops, hand pies, savory pies and more. Vendors like Royer’s Pie Haven from Round Top, Tiny Pies from Austin,  Sweet Lucy’s Pies from Ft Worth and Emporium Pies from Dallas are just a few of the many Texas based pie shops that will be on hand at Tate Farms on June 18.

Pie is said to be a great equalizer; crossing boundaries and cultures, igniting conversations and creating comfort for all. “Our goal is to bring people out to the farm, right out side of the city and spend the day enjoying food, fellowship and fresh air,” organizers said.

New, this year, the pie eating contests will be FREE with entry to Texas Pie Fest patrons AND their dogs. There will be 3 categories; adults, children and dogs. All 3 categories will have 3 winners. The pie baking contest also has a new twist, Texas Pie Fest patrons are the judges. Also, leading to 3 winners. All pie will be for sale but patrons will have several chances throughout the day to win pie at the old fashioned Pie Walk.
