Community BBQ announces new location in Downtown Rockwall

Tentative grand opening set for Aug. 30

ROCKWALL, TX (July 27, 2022) – We are thrilled to announce the newest business that will soon be opening its doors in downtown Rockwall, the award-winning restaurant Community BBQ!

Community BBQ was founded in Sachse during 2019 by Charlie Cheshire, the restaurant’s legendary Pit Master. Andy, Charlie’s son and the current Community BBQ owner with his wife Grace, says, “Charlie is a man with a gift, and when it comes to cooking with live fire and smoke, there isn’t anyone better.”

Community BBQ has earned many awards for their famous BBQ. They received the Best of 2020 Award by C&S Media for Best BBQ, Best Lunch and Best Desserts.

Working with M&D Real Estate’s Commercial Group, Community BBQ was able to locate its ideal new location for the restaurant, 112 Rusk Street in the Downtown Rockwall Square. M&D Real Estate was proud to help this business find their new home.

“Relocating to Rockwall was one of the easiest decisions we’ve made…” said Owner Andy Cheshire. “During our time in Sachse, we built relationships with the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce, bringing out our 36-foot BBQ trailer (The Chuck Wagon) for events honoring our military veterans and first responders. We’ve spent so much time in Rockwall over the past 20-something years, and a chance to be on the historic downtown square was just the icing on the cake… We love being part of a close-knit community, and Rockwall is our kind of town.”

The restaurant has a tentative grand opening date set for August 30, 2022.

The mission and passion of Community BBQ is to build relationships & serve people. To always offer warm and welcoming service. To give back to our surrounding neighborhoods. All while offering high quality meats, smoked and grilled to perfection. In the restaurant’s three years of business, it has donated over 30,000 free meals to local families, veterans, and non-profits through its Feed The Need Project. Community BBQ partners with school districts, non-profits, food banks, churches, and other groups doing great work in the area to provide meals for anyone who has a need.
