FATE, TX (Aug. 26, 2022) The City of Fate’s annual community celebration, Celebrate Fate, is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 17 at Fate City Hall, 1900 CD Boren Parkway (adjacent to Robert Smith Family Park, 1220 CD Boren Parkway).
This year, Celebrate Fate will feature the live music of 80s Gadgets, a limited number of free meals from In-N-Out Burger®, purchasable snacks from food vendors, and a craft vendor shopping experience. Event attendees can get flu shots, vaccinations, or eye exams in City Hall during the celebration. Kid’s activities will include bounce houses, carnival style rides and games, and airbrush face painters.
Additionally, pickleball and basketball demonstrations will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the courts located at Robert Smith Family Park.
To conclude the festivities, fireworks set to music will fill the sky. The first 600 event goers can receive a free commemorative 2022 Celebrate Fate t-shirt and swag bag.
As part of the event, the city is also partnering with Carter BloodCare to run a blood drive from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Fate Community Center, 104 William E Crawford Avenue. Anyone interested in donating and participating in the drive that morning can visit https://ww3.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/130902 to sign up.
Bike parking is available in the front parking lot of City Hall. Vehicle parking is also available at Miss May Vernon Elementary and Bobby Summers Middle School nearby. Visitors can also utilize on-street parking or can use a shuttle service provided by event sponsors Star Transit and Enterprise.
For the ninth consecutive year, the city has hosted this community wide celebration and these free activities thanks in large part to the support of generous event sponsors. This family friendly event began as a way to build community spirit among longtime residents and the increasing number of new residents that now call Fate home.
