ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 16, 2022) On Sept. 9, golfers helped support Rockwall County Helping Hands by participating in their Annual Golf Tournament at Buffalo Creek Golf Club, chaired by Board members Jeremy Neill and Gary Spraggins.
Every year, Helping Hands raises awareness for Rockwall residents facing poverty, and the proceeds go to help the organization serve numerous families with emergency assistance, food needs and assistance, medical assistance, and financial crises. This tournament benefiting Rockwall County Helping Hands has consistently been a source of fun, camaraderie, and a fixture as a key fundraiser for the agency.
Helping Hands hosted a “Ryder Cup” style invitational and golfers got to strive for a $25,000 Hole in One cash prize sponsored by Green Electronic Solutions. Local businesses had a friendly competition against each other to fundraise the most by their teams to benefit the agency with a goal to raise at least $3,000 per team. This year, Lake June Scrap Metals was the top fundraising team with their team raising over $6,000!
At the tournament along with the awards ceremony and BBQ lunch, several door prizes were given as well as longest drive, closest to the squiggle line and closest to the pin prizes. It is a great opportunity to network and share in the mission of Rockwall County Helping Hands with our growing list of partners and community supporters.
