Downtown Rockwall wins award from Texas Downtown Association

Siren Rock Brewery wins People’s Choice Best New Construction Project for 2022

ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 14, 2022) – Since it was constructed, Siren Rock Brewery has become a sought after venue in Downtown Rockwall. And now the City of Rockwall has won an award for the project. Rockwall residents rallied to vote, and the Texas Downtown Association (TDA) awarded Siren Rock Brewery with the People’s Choice Best New Construction Project for 2022.

The project to construct the innovative new structure has been a long time coming, starting as a brainchild of owners Cory and Eva Cannon back in 2018. The COVID pandemic delayed the process considerably, and yet now most would say it was worth the wait. The area formerly housed a car care business, which relocated before Goliad was expanded in about 2007. The land had been sitting empty since then. Now patrons can enjoy time outdoors or in the unique brewery anytime they’re downtown.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Texas Downtown Association and the voters who chose us for this award,” said Rockwall City Manager Mary Smith. “Siren Rock Brewery is a nice addition, attracting crowds of visitors to our downtown destination space—and one that will make a lasting impact for years to come.”

The Texas Downtown Association (TDA) sponsors the annual award program to recognize outstanding projects, places, and people of Texas. One hundred and thirty three entries were submitted in 11 different categories from communities across the state. Votes for the competition were tallied online via Facebook.
