Fate to partner with YMCA of Rockwall for youth sports programming

FATE, TX (January 6, 2023) – As part of the adopted Forward Fate Comprehensive Plan, City of Fate staff continue to foster relationships with school districts and the YMCA of Rockwall to enter into a shared use agreement allowing Fate families access to youth sports within the community.

Therefore, the City of Fate is happy to announce its partnership with the YMCA of Rockwall to provide Youth Sports Programming to the community.  Youth programming will begin this Spring with The Bitty Program that includes introductory-style outdoor soccer for 3–5-year-old children. The program is scheduled to begin around April 1, 2023 and conclude around May 6, 2023. Registration for members of the YMCA is $60, and non-members is $90 and includes uniforms. The season will offer a 6-week program with the first 3 weeks being practices and the last 3 weeks being games.

VP of Operations for YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, Brian Haines stated, “We are thrilled to partner with the City of Fate and provide sports within their growing community.  We hope this opportunity will act as a catalyst for the future and allow us to build some great sports programming options for citizens throughout the area.”

The partnership will provide sports programming, promotion, scheduling, and management of youth programs to residents of Fate by the YMCA.  The City of Fate has designated Joe Burger Park for soccer field use, will provide meeting space for coaches, and has agreed to promote the programming through all means available.

When asked about the partnership, Fate’s Mayor David Billings said, “The City of Fate is happy to partner with the YMCA for sports programming for our community youth.  We, as a city, have long desired programs such as these and are excited for the beginning of what could become a great community benefit to our citizens.”

Registration will begin on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, via the YMCA Registration Portal found at www.ymcadallas.org/locations/jerchiltonymca. Fate residents who have already registered for offerings in Royse City or Rockwall will have the option to transfer their registration to the Fate program.
