ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 18, 2023) Rockwall ISD Board Trustee Amy Hilton announced that she will seek re-election for Place 6 in the May 6th election. Mrs. Hilton, who was first elected in 2020, currently serves as board Vice-President.
In 2021, Mrs. Hilton was appointed as a board representative to the District Facilities and Construction Committee that oversees the district’s portfolio of building projects including the freshman centers, middle school #4, the new Rochell Elementary, and all other capital and voter-approved bond projects. Additionally, Mrs. Hilton was selected as the board representative to the District Budget and Finance Committee, which oversees the district’s annual budget process.
“I look forward to continuing to serve all Rockwall ISD students, parents, and teachers to ensure that the district is delivering excellence in education while meeting the demands of our fast-growing community,” said Mrs. Hilton.
Mrs. Hilton has a long history of service to the community and Rockwall ISD, serving as a two-term president of both Rockwall-Heath Early Childhood PTA and Linda Lyon Elementary PTO, as well as on the board of the RISD District Council of PTAs, Rockwall-Heath High School PTA, Cain Middle School PTA, and Amy-Parks Heath Elementary PTO. Over the past 11 years, Mrs. Hilton has personally invested in the lives of many area youths by serving as an elementary robotics coach, Cub Scout leader, pre-K Sunday School teacher, and mentor at Cain and RHHS. Currently, she is a member of Young Men’s Service League serving as a philanthropy liaison for Children’s Advocacy Center and Rockwall Breakfast Rotary, as well as a member of Rockwall County Republican Women. She also works closely with Rockwall Breakfast Rotary to assist them with their flag subscription program by organizing a group of 21 local high school seniors who are earning service hours by placing American flags at homes and businesses on federal holidays.
Mrs. Hilton is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she received a BBA in Accounting, and has been a Certified Public Accountant for 23 years. She and her husband, Robert, have four children attending Rockwall ISD elementary, middle, and high schools.
