ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 20, 2022) The I-30 work zone over Lake Ray Hubbard is expanding, as a second improvement project gets underway in the corridor. Drivers are urged to plan ahead for extra travel time to help traffic safely navigate through these adjacent work zones.
As progress continues on both projects, any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance.
The I-30 between Dalrock Rd. and SH 205 project was awarded to Williams Brothers Construction Co. The project will construct continuous frontage roads and widen the existing main lanes from six to eight lanes. There will also be improvements to ramps and interchange configurations.
Construction is anticipated to complete in late 2026.
As a reminder for the current project on I-30 between Bass Pro Drive and Dalrock Rd.:
• Project limits are between Bass Pro Dr. and Dalrock Rd.
• Project includes adding continuous frontage roads, widening main lanes and improving the Dalrock Rd. interchange.
• Project was awarded to Sema Construction, Inc. for $142 million
• Estimated completion is summer 2024.
These projects are part of the I-30 corridor expansion project from Bass Pro Dr. to the Hunt County line. Future projects will widen I-30 and add continuous frontage roads throughout Rockwall County. The work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
