Fate, TX (July 5, 2023) – The City of Fate will begin construction on a new 6.5-million-gallon pump station located at N. Ben Payne Road and Highway 66 this summer. Members of the City Council, city leadership and the Public Works department gather on Thursday, July 6th for a groundbreaking ceremony for the $18M project.
The project is expected to take about 24 months from groundbreaking to usage and will double the current system’s service capacity. With the expansion of I-30, Fate is taking a proactive approach to prepare the infrastructure for planned future development. The Public Works department will be managing this project to save additional funds on the overall project cost.
Concept designs for the Pump Station will feature a stone wall surrounding a partially submerged water tank and pump room. The stone wall will complement the surrounding neighborhood’s aesthetic allowing for a seamless transition between the two properties. Fate Public Works Director, Scott Monahan is excited to lead this project with his team saying, “We are excited to partner with Kimley-Horn on the construction of and manage this historic project for the City of Fate, for current and future residents and businesses”.
Fate Mayor, David Billings, says he “is happy that this project is kicking-off and it will help continue to meet environmental standards and meet all requirements for the current development plans. As the city continues to grow, we have additional projects for a new water tower and ground storage tank planned, but this project is the largest impact project to date for the City of Fate. I could not be more excited for the team leading this project and the positive impact it will have for our community.”
