Rockwall, TX (August 8, 2023) – Rockwall elementary choir student and alto singer, Jolene Wimberly, was chosen to participate in the Texas Choral Directors Association’s (TCDA) State Elementary Honor Choir.
It’s a true honor to be chosen for TCDA. Jolene attended three days of extended rehearsals and performed with her peers last week at the TCDA annual convention. She also learned about future careers in music, and even met with a college recruiter about the admission process.
Jolene had such a wonderful experience that she is strongly considering a career in music now. What makes Jolene’s story unique is she is enrolled at Texas Online Preparatory School (TOPS), one of the largest online schools in the nation. TOPS is a tuition-free online public charter school that prides itself on prioritizing students’ holistic development while nurturing their social and emotional growth. TOPS also provides an array of extracurricular activities, clubs, and community service options to enrich students’ lives and prepare them for the demands of higher education.
