Rowlett High School is first high school in Texas and one of the first 12 schools in the nation to perform Six: The Musical Teen Edition
ROWLETT, TX (Jan. 24, 2024) – Garland ISD is pleased to announce that Rowlett High School has been selected to perform the new teen edition of “SIX.” “SIX: THE MUSICAL TEEN EDITION” is a full-length adaptation of the international phenomenon “SIX,” modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.
This exciting musical tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII, giving them a modern twist and bringing their voices to the forefront. The Rowlett High School Theatre Company will perform the show from January 25 through January 28, 2024, at 4700 President George Bush Hwy, Rowlett, TX 75088.
Directed by Clayton Younkin, the production features a cast of talented high school students who are sure to deliver a show-stopping performance. From the costumes to the energetic choreography, “SIX: TEEN EDITION” promises to be a production that audiences won’t soon forget. The historical context also provides an educational component as the audience can learn more about the lives of the six women.
“We are thrilled to be the first high school in Texas to perform the teen version of the show,” said Younkin. “The cast includes six powerhouse performers ready to wow the crowd with their vocals, on-stage chemistry, and choreography. It is a huge honor to be selected as one of the first schools in the nation to perform the adapted version of “SIX,” and it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Rowlett High School Eagle Theatre Company. We can’t wait to showcase our production and share the incredible story of these six queens with the community.”
The newly released teen version of the hit musical will be opening on stages across America soon, but you can see it first at Rowlett High School.
