MCLENDON-CHISHOLM, TX (Feb. 22, 2024) – Today, Adrienne Balkum declared her candidacy for Mayor of McLendon-Chisholm, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to providing visionary leadership and serving the community with integrity and dedication.
“I’m excited to continue my dedicated service to our community, and my hard work to improve the quality of life for residents in our community,” said Balkum. “From ensuring our utilities and infrastructure are sound, keeping our families safe and thoughtfully managing growth so that we
can preserve the spirit of our community, we must have leaders that are willing to take these issues head on. I humbly ask for your vote and your support in the upcoming May election.”
Currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem with a rich background in marketing and a proven track record of community service, Adrienne Balkum brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the needs of McLendon-Chisholm residents to her candidacy.
Adrienne’s journey began on the Texas Gulf Coast and led her to Rockwall in 2010, where she and her family have firmly planted roots in the McLendon-Chisholm community since 2015.
Throughout her professional career, Adrienne has navigated diverse landscapes, from managing marketing campaigns to orchestrating international conferences. Her experiences have honed her skills as a communicator, collaborator, and advocate for positive change.
As a Council Member, Adrienne Balkum has championed initiatives aimed at securing McLendon-Chisholm’s future, from advocating for essential services to fostering partnerships with local stakeholders. Her dedication to the community is evidenced by her active involvement in volunteer committees and advocacy for City-related issues.

Leadership: Adrienne is committed to proactive leadership, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal services, and following through on the action items outlined in the 2021 Comprehensive Plan.
Public Utilities & Infrastructure: One of Adrienne’s top priorities is for McLendon-Chisholm to manage its own public water system to exercise greater control over future development, ensuring that it aligns with the City’s vision and infrastructure needs.
Strategic Planning: Adrienne recognizes the importance of strategic planning in guiding the City’s growth in a sustainable and responsible manner. She is committed to engaging in comprehensive strategic planning in crucial areas such as land use, economic development, transportation planning, and public safety enhancements.
City Legislation: Adrienne aims to join the coalition of Texas Mayors and City Council Members to support City resolutions for bills to be introduced when the State Legislators reconvene in 2025, advocating for the City’s interests and priorities at the state level.
