Promoting Civic Engagement, Independent Candidate Endorsements
ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 21, 2024) County chairs play a vital role in promoting civic engagement and voter education. They are elected officials who serve as leaders within their communities, working to ensure that all voices are heard in the political process.
It is important to clarify that county chairs do not endorse candidates representing their party affiliations. Instead, they make endorsements on an individual basis, considering the merits of each candidate. This principle extends to former candidates as well.
In the context of Rockwall County municipal elections, Susie Stansel, Rockwall County Democratic Chair, has not endorsed any candidate nor pursued former candidates to endorse. Any former candidates endorsing municipal candidates are doing so independently and not at the mandate of the Rockwall County Democratic Party or its leadership.
