Rowlett, TX (Feb. 19, 2024) — The Rowlett Area Chamber and Visitors Center is excited to announce the appointment of Sharon Mayer as its new President & CEO, effective February 19, 2024. Mayer brings 35 years of experience to her new role, having served most recently as President & CEO of the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce since 1997.
During her tenure at the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce, Mayer demonstrated exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to the business community. Her efforts were instrumental in fostering growth, enhancing member services, and advocating for business-friendly initiatives. Mayer’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing growing communities make her an ideal leader for the Rowlett Area Chamber and Visitors Center as it navigates an exciting period of growth and development.
Stephen Causey, Chairman of the Board, expressed his enthusiasm for Mayer’s appointment, saying, “The next time you’re on Main Street near the Rowlett Chamber office, stop by and get to know our new CEO. She has some remarkable stories, including one about her role in keeping the Texas Rangers in Arlington in the 90’s. Hiring Sharon as our new leader of the Chamber was like uncovering a pot of gold.”
