Over $20K raised for JER Chilton YMCA’s Day of Giving

Rockwall, TX (March 8, 2024) – The carnival rolled into our JER Chilton YMCA community on Tuesday, March 5 with games, treats and tons of fun to kick off YMCA Day of Giving.  Young and old alike came to participate in the activities with a Swim-a-thon, “axe-throwing”, popcorn, hot dogs and much more! But nothing was more fun than watching our District Executive Director, Harold Young, Stacie Renfro, Associate Executive Director/Membership Director, and others get dunked! Unfortunately for them, the water was not very warm.

While everyone had a lot of fun the carnival had an important purpose – to support our YMCA programs for a healthy mind, body and spirit right here in the Rockwall County area.

“The JER Chilton YMCA was buzzing with excitement around the Y Day of Giving,” said Harold Young. “In total raising over $20,000 for scholarships, swim lessons, Angel Camp, Camp Dakota, Active Older Adults and Sports! Thank you to all who continue to support our programs.”

The Y strives to coordinate programs that improve the lives of all ages in their community. Safety Around Water seeks to eliminate drowning deaths and expand opportunities for swim lessons. Rockwall’s very own Angel Camp was developed to provide young people with special needs a true summer camp experience with activities designed just for them. And of course, the many sports, fitness, special programs and events the YMCA is known for.

The JER Chilton Board of Managers, staff, and members appreciate the many individuals who generously give with their hearts in support of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations like ours. With your donations we can continue to grow and nurture our community. If you missed the day’s event and would like to donate to the YMCA annual campaign and help make the Y available for all you can do so online. And, once again, on behalf of everyone at JER Chilton YMCA, thank you for partnering with us on a healthy community!
