FATE, TX (March 22, 2024) Progress continues in Downtown Fate with the groundbreaking ceremony of Sauce & Vine, a full-service Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Fate adjacent to the Fate Station Park.
The beginning of this project marks another milestone for the community’s vision of the revitalization of Downtown Fate. Attending the ceremony were owners Jeff and Kimberly Swinger, Chef Ted Grieb and wife Dana, and representatives from the City of Fate.
Leading this venture is J&K Land Development, whose commitment to innovation and quality is evident in their choice of Executive Chef and Partner, Ted Grieb. With over three decades of culinary expertise, Chef Grieb has spearheaded several successful dining establishments, notably Square Market and Zanata in downtown Rockwall. Renowned for his mastery of Italian and regional cuisine, Chef Grieb played a pivotal role in revitalizing Rockwall’s dining scene and now eagerly anticipates extending his culinary influence on Fate.
“Downtown Fate is in the perfect location for this high-energy, new restaurant project,” said Chef Grieb, “We are excited to create a central attraction for dining and entertainment in Fate’s rapidly growing community.”
Sauce & Vine promises a delightful dining experience with its inviting, modern-rustic ambiance. Two wood-fired ovens will be at the core of the restaurant that will feature handmade Italian favorites, delectable pizzas, freshly baked bread, expertly crafted gelato, and other artisanal delights. From handmade pastas reflecting regional flavors to beloved family recipes, Sauce & Vine is poised to become a cherished destination for patrons seeking authentic Italian cuisine and memorable experiences.
Enhancing the dining experience are two expansive patios flanking the restaurant, providing panoramic views of the city and park. Guests can revel in leisurely moments on the patio while children engage in playful activities at the train station inspired playground nearby.
Mayor David Billings shared his thoughts on the development moving forward, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome the long-awaited Sauce and Vine to our downtown development. This establishment not only promises to deliver a quality dining experience but also brings with it a much-needed family-friendly atmosphere. It’s not just about the food; it’s about fostering community and providing a venue we can all come together to enjoy delicious meals and create lasting memories.”
The City of Fate Economic Development Corporation (MDD) actively participated in the acquisition of the property for this project. “With the arrival of Sauce and Vine, we anticipate a boost to our local economy with the creation of jobs, and a surge in foot traffic, attracting both residents and visitors to our downtown area. This restaurant implements the pillars of our Forward Fate comprehensive plan and will be another factor in enhancing the overall quality of life in our community and economic vitality in our downtown.” Victoria Egbert, Vice President of the Fate MDD.
“We at First Guaranty Bank are thrilled to be supporting the exciting venture of Sauce & Vine in Downtown Fate.
