Recap of last night’s public forum for Rockwall County Strategic Plan 2050

ROCKWALL, TX (June 5, 2024) – Public Forum #3 of the Rockwall County 2050 Plan covered the topics of Environmental Factors & Sustainability, Land Use & Open Spaces, and Historic Preservation.

During the forum, Tom Kula discussed the critical infrastructure and water supply improvements that are helping position the county to continue meeting the needs of our communities for decades to come. Lorne Liechty spoke about ways to preserve and protect natural systems, design open spaces, and plan for future recreational considerations and trail connections throughout Rockwall County. Mark Russo discussed the importance of protecting the rich history of Rockwall County for the future.

The next public forum will address the future of Education and Non-Profit Organizations in Rockwall County on June 11th in Liberty Hall at the Rockwall County Courthouse from 5 to 7 PM.
