I-30 detours nightly at Bass Pro Drive & Horizon Road in Rockwall starting July 29

ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (July 25, 2024) Weather permitting, the following closures are scheduled as part of the ongoing I-30 corridor improvement project in Rockwall:

• All lanes of east and westbound I-30 will close and traffic will detour to the frontage roads between Bass Pro Drive and Dalrock Road fro 9 p.m. Monday, July 29 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 and again Tuesday through Thursday nights.
• Access to Lakefront Trail and Shoreline Trail will be closed at I-30 from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug 2 through 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug 3.
• All lanes of eastbound I-30 will close and detour at Horizon Road from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug 2 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug 3 to allow for bridge removal.
• All lanes of westbound I-30 will close and detour at Horizon Road from 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug 3 through 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug 4 to allow for bridge removal.

There will be limited access from local streets to the frontage roads during these times. Drivers should plan ahead for delays and extra travel time on both the local road and I-30 detours.

After these closures, traffic will stay in a similar configuration prior to construction. The Horizon Road interchange is scheduled to complete in late 2026.
