ROYSE CITY, TX (Sept. 18, 2024) The Royse City Police Department is investigating reports of an anonymous threat to Royse City High School. A threatening note stating “Shooting up the school 9/25/24” has been found written on a restroom stall at the high school. Several students have reported the incident to school administration and to the School Resource Officers on campus. This type of anonymous threat of a school shooting is similar to what several school districts and police departments are currently dealing with throughout our area. At this time, the Royse City Police Department has no creditable evidence to indicate that this is a serious threat to the school.
Both RCPD and RCISD continue to collaborate on protecting the safety of every individual on campus. This includes Royse City Police Officers assigned as School Resource Officers and Armed Security Officers from RCISD.
The incident remains under investigation and there is no further information at this time.
