Rockwall police investigate kidnapping

UPDATE: At approximately 11am, the Missouri Highay Patrol located the vehicle which contained the child and both parents. The child was unharmed and both parents have criminal charges pending.

ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 300, 2024)  – During the overnight hours of Sunday, September 29th, 2024, 6-month old female Nova Brady was taken from her home in the 300 block of Munson Street. After investigation, detectives developed a high level of confidence that Nova’s biological parents, who recently lost parental rights to the child, were likely responsible for taking the child and have left the DFW area.

An Amber Alert was issued for the child and the investigation in to Nova’s disappearance is ongoing. Nova’s parents are identified as 26-year old Dakota Brady and 22-year old Margaret VanAken and are believed to be traveling in a 2007 Silver Toyota Sienna van bearing Texas License Plate VKG9957. Anyone who sees these individuals or the vehicle are urged to call 911.
