Rockwall, TX (November 8, 2024) — Following a challenging election, the Rockwall County Democratic Party is resilient and united again. We understand this is hard, and we feel the disappointment many of you feel. But remember: every vote is like a vital thread in the fabric of our democracy and our lives. Each vote strengthens our community and builds a brighter future for us all.
Our journey isn’t over because of one election; it keeps going. Texas calls on us to step up to the challenges ahead, and we are already looking toward the next elections in 2026 and 2028. We know the road forward will be difficult. Winning back ground will require victories in critical state and national races. It will take holding onto key seats and broadening our support to reach every community in Texas. The heart of this mission is the hard work, voices, and commitment of our volunteers and supporters.
We are deeply grateful to the volunteers, donors, Democratic election workers, and the Rockwall County Elections Office, who gave so much during this election cycle. Your time, resources, and unwavering integrity made this election possible. From early mornings to late nights, you worked behind the scenes to ensure every vote was counted fairly and accurately. To every person who knocked on doors, made calls, funded our efforts, or spread the word—thank you. You are the backbone of our movement, and we are truly thankful for your dedication to our shared values and goals.
Take the time you need to rest. But let’s remember who we are. We are strong. We don’t give up. “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign,” she said firmly. “That is a fight I will never give up.” As Vice President Kamala Harris said, “We will continue to wage this fight in the voting booth, in the courts, and in the public square.” When challenges arise, we come together even stronger, even louder. Now is the time to rally and stand up again for our future and values. Each of us has a part to play; we have something to give, whether it’s your time, skills, or voice, and your effort matters.
Our movement is here for democracy and a better life for everyone. We believe in the power of working together and are committed to making our nation fair and inclusive. So let’s show up again for our families, friends, and future. Together, we will keep building our democracy, thread by thread, with shared hope and purpose.
“The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.” – Edward M. Kennedy
The work continues. Let’s get to it.
