ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 5, 2025) – Red Dirt Social, the newest culinary gem in Downtown Fate, officially opened its doors with a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 3. Offering an elevated dining experience with a focus on breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffee, Red Dirt Social is set to become a local favorite for food enthusiasts of all kinds.
The menu features a variety of mouthwatering dishes, including their signature Breakfast Pizza and the fan-favorite Monte Cristo—crafted with Black Forest ham, maple-glazed turkey, bacon, and melted Swiss cheese, grilled to perfection and topped with a jalapeño & berry jam. Whether guests are stopping in for a handcrafted latte or a hearty meal, Red Dirt Social promises fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Michael Shelley, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate from Pittsburgh, PA, and an accomplished culinary artist with over 20 years of experience in some of the most prestigious restaurants and resorts in the country. Chef Mike was part of the Mobile Five Star team at Studio Restaurant at Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, CA, and has worked with esteemed establishments such as St. Regis Monarch Beach, Pelican Hill Resort Newport Coast, and The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills. His passion for quality, innovation, and community-focused cuisine brings a fresh perspective to the Fate dining scene.
“As a chef and as a Fate resident, I wanted to create a place where people can come together over great food and great company,” said Chef Mike. “Everything on our menu is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and I’m excited to share my passion for cooking with the community.”
Chef Mike and his wife have proudly made Fate their home, raising their children while enjoying baseball, volleyball, cheer, and dance as a family. His love for the community shines through in every dish served at Red Dirt Social.
