ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (March 3, 2025) Lea Lashley, a dedicated community advocate, volunteer, and business owner with deep roots in Rockwall County, is proud to announce her candidacy for Heath City Council Place 1.
“I am your neighbor, not a politician,” says Lea, a Rockwall County resident for 20 years, the most recent 7 spent in Heath.
Lea was involved with the community of Heath long before becoming a resident, learning from leaders and neighbors alike so that today, she can continue to advocate on behalf of those who aim to keep Heath a safe and desirable place to call home. “I have become a trusted voice among neighbors, regularly appealing to city leaders to maintain the integrity of Heath as outlined in the comprehensive plan. This includes speaking up regarding our community’s most polarizing issues related to development, water and safety, while trusting in the power of our collective voices to effectively influence and uphold accountability among city leaders.”
“I believe in the power of transforming the community through altruism, unity and resident empowerment to make a difference. This means being involved, knowing your neighbor, and listening.”
Mother of two, wife of a retired police officer, and business owner serving the greater Rockwall, Kaufman and Collin County communities, the fifth-generation Texan has spent countless hours lending her time and talents to enrich the communities of which she has resided. Find her steeped in the community as an active member of and volunteer for Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church, a volunteer at her local school, member of the PTO, and loyal patron of Heath’s local businesses.
Deeply motivated to uphold the values and future of Heath, Lea’s campaign will focus on key issues that align with the city’s comprehensive plan, including transparent governance, responsible development, improving infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and enhancing community safety and services. Lea is committed to continually listening to the concerns of her fellow neighbors, giving them a voice, and advocating for policies that reflect the community’s interests.
“I am honored to run for Heath City Council Place 1, and look forward to working together to ensure a prosperous and vibrant community,” Lashley said.
By the way, it’s pronounced “Lee,” like the jeans. With an ‘a.’
