Tigers at In-Sync have new lounging platform thanks to local Scout

WYLIE, TX (June 26, 2025) Caleb Belton, 17, from Scout Troop 1001 in Richardson, TX, was looking for an exciting service project as part of his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout. He had visited In-Sync Exotics with his family and was moved by the dedication the non-profit organization had for rescuing and caring for neglected, abused, and unwanted exotic felines.

After choosing In-Sync Exotics, home to over sixty big cats, Caleb planned, coordinated, and fundraised to replace a tiger platform inside an enclosure. Eagle Scout is the highest rank of Scouting, and their projects help non-profit organizations as well as community programs. The projects provide Scouts with the opportunity to build leadership skills and Caleb oversaw his project throughout the process, from planning to execution.

“The reason I chose this as my Eagle Scout project is because I knew the center was in need of a new platform, and this would be a great opportunity to help out somewhere that does a lot of good for animals in need,” Caleb said. “I hope to have made life more comfortable for the tigers living inside the enclosure and to enhance the animals’ well-being.”

“It was a pleasure working with Caleb and his team. We are incredibly grateful and honored that he selected In-Sync for his Eagle Scout project. The amount of support Caleb received from his troop, family and friends was impressive as building the new platform was a big endeavor! Since the completion of the new platform, we have received many compliments on his work and the cats are enjoying lounging on top of their new platform as well as staying cool underneath” says In-Sync volunteer, Laura Czekala.
