ROCKWALL, TX (July 8, 2025) – Blue Ribbon News is honored to wish a very Happy 100th Birthday to Ruth Holt, a beloved resident at Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care (5250 Medical Drive in Rockwall), who turns 100 on July 11!
Born in Fate, TX, Ruth is a proud lifelong Texan with a Master’s degree in Education. She studied at North Texas and graduated from East Texas College before going on to inspire young minds as a teacher and librarian with Garland ISD—a career that spanned an incredible 38 years.
In 1943, just after the war, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Charles Holt. Together they raised two children—both of whom now live nearby in Rockwall. Though Charles has since passed, their love story lives on through Ruth’s ever-growing family, which includes grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren she loves dearly.
Ruth is an avid reader who still enjoys her daily newspaper, loves music, and cherishes time spent with her new friends at Lakeshore. Her grace, wisdom, and warmth have touched generations—and now, a century later, her story continues to inspire.
