ROCKWALL, TX (Sept. 15, 2025) – The Rockwall Art League hosted its signature event of the year Sept. 12-14 at Cavender Nissan, celebrating talented artists from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The 25th Annual Juried Fine Art Show & Sale featured 111 artists presenting 182 original works of art.

Kay Byfield served as judge. She began painting more than 35 years ago, and – after earning a Master of Fine Arts degree, she taught college art classes for ten years. She has won numerous awards over a lifetime, most notably Best of Show at the 2022 Southwestern Watercolor Society exhibition. SWS is one of the largest watercolor societies in the US and Kay is honored to be the President in 2025-2026.
In addition to being an accomplished painter, teaching has been a major focus of Kay’s art career. As a college professor, she taught design, painting, photography, art appreciation, and art history. After she left her faculty position at Northeast Texas College in Mount Pleasant, she worked as a corporate marketer while teaching at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas.
