Leadership Rockwall Class of 2026 kicks off with dynamic team-building retreat

ROCKWALL, TX — October 7, 2025 — The Leadership Rockwall Class of 2026 launched their leadership journey on October 3rd with an engaging and energizing two-day retreat held at Stony Ranch in Ponder, Texas, led by Dick Hammond, also known as “Dizzy Dick”, of Leadership on the Move.

The retreat set the tone for the months ahead as the 22 with diverse backgrounds and organizations dove into a series of interactive exercises designed to build connection, trust, teamwork, and leadership. Activities included exploring shared experiences and values, navigating the Rope Knot challenge to strengthen communication, and working together to overcome the Spider Web obstacle to learn collaboration and trust.

The Class of 2026 came together quickly, blending hard work with plenty of fun. The “sugar” on top was the bond they formed which will carry them through their Leadership Rockwall experience allowing them to create a lasting impact on the Rockwall community.

Through personality tools and a discussion of the five key characteristics of effective leaders, participants gained valuable insights into leadership styles and team dynamics. Culminating in the discovery that they could accomplish more together than they thought possible once they stepped out of their comfort zones.
