Royse City ISD Superintendent Dr. Amy Anderson completes Holdsworth Leadership Program

Royse City, TX (December 5, 2025) – Royse City ISD is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Amy Anderson has completed The Holdsworth Center’s highly selective 18-month Superintendent Leadership Program. This rigorous program brings together superintendents from across Texas to strengthen and prepare them for the complex challenges school leaders often face. The program is designed to deepen systems thinking, reflect and strategize based on current district needs, and ready these waymakers to guide the path to excellence.

Dr. Amy Anderson and Mentor/Coach Dr. Art Cavazos

Dr. Anderson joined the cohort in July of 2024, as one of only ten superintendents selected to participate, and has spent the past year and a half collaborating with expert faculty, learning from and connecting with accomplished mentors, and engaging in intensive study designed to support the long-term success of Texas public school systems. The program strives to not only focus on the superintendent’s growth, but also with creating a collective voice and connection with the cabinet team who joined Dr. Anderson at The Holdsworth Center for the June session. Anderson’s completion of the program marks an important milestone not only in her professional journey as a lifelong learner, but also in Royse City ISD’s commitment to thoughtful leadership, continuous improvement, and districtwide excellence.

“The Holdsworth experience challenged me to think with a new perspective and insight about how to best serve our community, and how to create enhanced experiences for all learners,” Dr. Anderson said. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside incredible superintendents from across Texas, and to bring these insights back to RCISD as we continue building a thriving future for our students and staff.”

The Holdsworth Center, founded by H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt, is dedicated to developing strong leaders for Texas public schools. Its Superintendent Leadership Program includes executive coaching, on-site learning sessions, and field visits that expose participants firsthand to best practices in action.

Under Dr. Anderson’s leadership as the first female superintendent, Royse City ISD continues to prioritize strong relationships, academic innovation, and a culture where both students and staff are known and valued. Her participation in the Holdsworth cohort supports the district’s focus on strategic planning, leadership development, and sustaining high quality experiences for every learner.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Anderson’s accomplishment,” said Royse City ISD Board of Trustees President, Scott Muckensturm. “Her commitment to learning and continuous improvement demonstrates the kind of leadership that makes our district stronger. The insights she brings back from Holdsworth will continue to create lasting benefits for our schools and our community.”

Royse City ISD congratulates Dr. Amy Anderson on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to the continued impact of her vision and leadership across the district.
