Dallas, TX (January 12, 2026) – Stan’s Blue Note is turning up the heat once again with “Great Bowls of Fire,” the 14th Annual Chili Cook-Off, happening Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2 PM to 6 PM. Self-proclaimed chili chefs from across DFW will bring their best bowls, bold flavors, and friendly competition to one of Stan’s longest-running and most-loved annual events — all in pursuit of cash prizes and bragging rights.
This year’s Chili Cook-Off benefits Amplified Minds, a Dallas-based nonprofit providing free mental health services to adults, with a strong focus on supporting creatives and service industry workers.

Chili competitors can register online in advance for $25, or $30 on the day of the event, with limited spots available. Each chili entry must be registered separately and includes a Busch Light draft drink ticket — because good chili deserves a cold beer. Registration is available online through Eventbrite.
From bean debates to heat levels that spark arguments, competitors are encouraged to bring their boldest, most brag-worthy chili — mild or fiery, vegetarian or anything in between. Creativity is half the fun, and no two bowls are ever the same. Full rules and entry requirements are available on Stan’s website.
Cash prizes will be awarded across two categories — People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice. The People’s Choice category is decided by the crowd, so competitors are encouraged to bring friends, family, and fans to help vote them to the top.
When the tasting begins, chilis line the bar and the action kicks off. Guests can purchase a tasting spoon and ballot, walk the lineup, sample a wide variety of chilis, and cast votes for their favorites. A Busch Light draft is included with each chili entry and with tasting spoon purchases, making it easy to sip, sample, and settle the age-old question of whose chili reigns supreme.
For the Judges’ Choice category, a panel of judges will sample every chili entry and select winners based on flavor, creativity, and overall execution. Between the judging, tasting, voting, and cold drinks, the Chili Cook-Off delivers a lively, crowd-driven afternoon that feels exactly like a Stan’s Sunday should.

Beyond the chili, guests can expect raffles, door prizes, drink specials, and giveaways, plus all the usual Stan’s staples —darts, shuffleboard, music, and sports games on the big screens throughout the day.
“This event has become a true Stan’s tradition,” said Bob Myers, General Manager of Stan’s Blue Note. “It’s a fun, laid-back way to bring the community together, enjoy great chili and cold beer, and support a cause that means a lot to us.”
