Ashley Rains Announces Candidacy for Fate City Council, Place 2

FATE, TX (Feb. 23, 2026) — My name is Ashley Rains, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for Fate City Council, Place 2.

My husband and I have lived in Rockwall County for almost a decade. Nearly six years ago, we chose to make Fate, Texas our home. Together, we are raising our children here, and this community has become part of who we are. Like so many families, we were drawn to Fate because of its strong sense of community, its values, and its promise for the future.

I hold a Master of Business Administration and serve as Senior Vice President of Underwriting at a financial institution. In my role, I am responsible for evaluating risk, ensuring financial discipline, and supporting responsible, sustainable growth. These experiences have shaped my commitment to accountability, transparency, and thoughtful decision-making.

I decided to run for City Council because I believe Fate deserves leadership that prioritizes its citizens, respects the framework established by our city charter and state legislature, and remains focused on the best interests of our community. I want to be a catalyst for bringing together a council that is truly citizen-led, collaborative, and committed to working together for the future of our city.

I am passionate about supporting strategic commercial development to create strong, long-term revenue streams for Fate while protecting the character of our neighborhoods. I also believe deeply that our City Council should remain nonpartisan and focused on serving the people, not outside interests. My goal is to help bring our community back together and ensure every resident feels heard, respected, and represented.

Fate is more than just where my family lives — it is our home. I care deeply about its future, and I would be honored to serve this community and work alongside my fellow residents to keep Fate strong for generations to come.

Early Voting will be held Monday, April 20, 2026 through Tuesday, April 28, 2026 and the General Election will be held May 2, 2026. I would be honored to earn your trust and, in turn, your vote. Even if that’s not the case, please plan to cast your vote at the ballot because all our voices matter.
