How I Met My Mate | When the Cute Waiter Left his Number: Tim and Jennifer McCallum

ROCKWALL, TX (Feb. 10, 2026) Tim and I met in June the summer of 1992. I was 17 and he was 19. My best friend at the time and I walked into a restaurant to grab some dinner and he was our waiter. We ordered some food to-go, and in the to-go order he left me his phone number asking me to call him.

In an age before social media, cell phones, and dating websites I firmly believe our meeting was God‘s plan in action. We talked and went on our first date to get ice cream that weekend. Following that we were inseparable.

We got married the next summer on June 12, 1993. It was the wedding of our dreams under an oak tree out in the Texas Hill country surrounded by love from our family and friends. This June will be 33 years together and he is truly my best friend. Together we have raised two amazing children who are now adults and we have a beautiful four-month-old grandson who is the light of our lives.
