GREENVILLE, TX (March 30, 2026) — More than 31,000 pounds of food were delivered on March 25 by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to support local North Texas Food Bank partner organizations: Hunt County Shared Ministries (FISH) and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors.
The delivery included pantry staples such as applesauce, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, pasta, pancake mix, beans, flour, oats, and canned fruits, along with other essential items. These foods will help both organizations continue providing nutritious support to families across the community.

“These are items that we do not get on a regular basis, so this is fresh and exciting, and people get to be blessed by it,” said Adam Beene, Interim Director of Hunt County Shared Ministries.
Hunt County Shared Ministries and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors play a vital role in addressing food insecurity—serving over 28,000 individuals annually through consistent access to groceries and essential supplies. Donations of this scale help ensure shelves remain stocked and services uninterrupted.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints partners with organizations nationwide to provide food and resources through its welfare and humanitarian efforts, helping to alleviate hunger, promote self-reliance, and treat every individual with dignity and respect.

“I have over 230 families that we help—our neighbors facing food insecurity—and they are so gracious,” said Jill Stillman, Operations Manager of Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors. “They love the fact that they can come in and shop [here] as if it were a grocery store. We give them dignity, nourishment, and hope that someday they can return the favor and come back and volunteer to help us with our mission.”
Local volunteers assisted with receiving the shipment and preparing items for distribution.
“As a volunteer, it’s great to witness the collaboration between organizations,” said Richard Stolworthy, volunteer and local church member. “It’s what the Lord wants us to do—to come together to help those in need.”

Community members interested in supporting these efforts can contribute through donations, volunteer service, or local food drives.
