Rockwall High Stingerettes Senior Spotlight: Katelyn Illig

ROCKWALL, TX (May 6, 2026) Katelyn Illig is our next Stingerette Senior Spotlight. Katelyn is the daughter of Kristin and Tony Illig. She is a three-year member of the team and currently serves as Outreach Representative. Katelyn has been part of outstanding team accomplishments during her time as a Stingerette. She contributed to the ADTS Overall Best of the Best National Championship Team in 2026 and was also a member of the ADTS Best of the Best Team at Nationals in 2024. She competed at MA Nationals in 2025 and had the opportunity to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and travel to Walt Disney World in 2024. She began her journey as a member of Jacket Babes from 2022–2023.

Beyond drill team, Katelyn is an accomplished student leader. She serves as President of HOSA and Mu Alpha Theta for the 2025–2026 year and as Secretary of the National Honor Society from 2024–2026. She was recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar (2025–2026), Superintendent Scholar (2024–2025), and HOSA Homecoming Sweetheart (2025). Katelyn has balanced her time on the team with an exceptional commitment to academics and service, earning certifications as a Clinical Medical Assistant in 2025 and an EKG Technician in 2026.

In the fall, Katelyn will attend The University of Texas at Austin, where she will major in Health and Society on the pre-med track. She plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a Surgical Pathologist.
