ROCKWALL, TX (May 7, 2026) — Rockwall ISD proudly announces the 2026 Elementary and Secondary District Teachers of the Year, Jeanette Allison from Dorris A. Jones Elementary and Christopher Bell from Rockwall-Heath High School.
Jeanette Allison is a fifth-grade math teacher at Dorris A. Jones Elementary, and has been teaching for 19 years. Eight of those years have been with Rockwall ISD. Mrs. Allison believes in nurturing her students as leaders and responsible citizens.
“[Mrs. Allison] is a highly skilled educator who consistently delivers strong, purposeful instruction while supporting students and colleagues with care and dependability,” said Principal Lori Bailey.

Christopher Bell is an orchestra teacher at Rockwall-Heath High School and has been teaching for 15 years, all in Rockwall ISD. Mr. Bell said that, as the fine arts department lead at RHHS, it has been deeply rewarding to serve in various capacities and contribute to the growth of others.
“Under his leadership, our orchestras consistently earn top ratings at UIL contests,” said Principal Todd Bradford. “Students who may not always feel connected elsewhere find their place in the orchestra because Chris creates an environment where everyone is welcome.”

Each year, the district participates in the Teacher of the Year program from the Texas Association of School Administrators. This program begins at the district level with the opportunity to honor one educator from each Rockwall ISD campus for his or her ability to inspire students in innovative and creative ways. A selection committee comprised of district administrators, former teachers of the year, and community members then chooses the two winners.
The district teachers of the year will move on to the Region 10 competition and represent Rockwall ISD.
