ROCKWALL, TX (June 1, 2026) — Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County invites family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members to attend a free online educational program, “The New Advances in Dementia Treatment,” on Tuesday, June 24, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CDT.
Dementia affects millions of individuals and families across the United States, creating challenges that impact memory, thinking, communication, and daily life. As research continues to advance, new treatments and approaches are offering hope for improved care and quality of life.
Hosted by WellMed Caregiver Teleconnection and sponsored by the North Central Texas Caregiver Teleconnection Program, the session will provide the latest updates on dementia treatments, including information on new therapies and brain health recommendations for individuals of all ages.
The presentation will be led by Becky Mahan, PharmD, BCGP, BCACP, FASCP, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy and a recognized leader in geriatric pharmacy and Alzheimer’s education.
The event is free and open to family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about dementia care and brain health.

Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County and North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging provided information. The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging serves adults aged 60 and older and their family caregivers who live in Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Wise counties. Their mission is to create and maintain a coordinated health and social services network for older adults and family caregivers. They provide services and resources that help older adults maximize their quality of life and live independently.
