Rockwall County Detention Center Passes State Inspection for 18th Straight Year

ROCKWALL, TX (June 25, 2026)The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that the Rockwall County Detention Center has successfully passed its annual inspection by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS). This marks the 18th consecutive year that the facility has met all state-required standards.

This achievement reflects the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of our detention staff, maintenance personnel, and support teams, who work tirelessly each day to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of those entrusted to our care.

The annual TCJS inspection evaluates over 600 standards related to jail operations, inmate supervision, facility maintenance, life safety systems, medical and mental health services, staff training, and compliance with state regulations. Meeting these rigorous requirements year after year is a testament to the high standards upheld by our detention personnel, contractors, and volunteers.

The Sheriff’s Office would also like to acknowledge the continued support of the Rockwall County Commissioners Court, County Administration, and Facilities Maintenance Department. Their partnership plays a crucial role in ensuring that the detention center remains compliant, safe, and operationally sound.

To every member of our Detention Division—this accomplishment belongs to you. Your hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence continue to set the standard. Achieving 18 consecutive years is no easy feat; it has been earned every year.
