Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse Hosts Free Mounted Training Clinic with National Mounted Police Services Instructor
ROCKWALL, TEXAS (June 7, 2026) — The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse invites experienced riders to participate in a free mounted training clinic designed to strengthen the partnership between horse and rider while preparing for real-world challenges.
The clinic will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. inside the covered H.B. Patton Arena at Ridin’ High Cowboy Church, located at 8771 FM 35, Union Valley, Texas 75189.
The training will be led by Bayley Jonz, a Certified National Mounted Police Services Instructor with more than 20 years of experience in the horse industry. Drawing on proven mounted law enforcement training techniques, Jonz will provide riders with practical skills that enhance confidence, communication, and control in a variety of environments.
Participants will learn:
- Sensory training techniques, including an understanding of equine vision and psychology
- Strategies for maintaining control and composure when confronted with high-stress environments
- Skills and exercises designed to prepare civilian riders and horses for unexpected real-world challenges
This hands-on clinic focuses on building confidence, control, and trust between horse and rider. Whether riders are seeking to improve horsemanship, expose their horses to new stimuli, or gain confidence navigating challenging situations, the training offers valuable instruction in a supportive environment.
“The goal is to help riders better understand their horses while developing the skills needed to safely navigate unpredictable situations,” said Jonz. “A confident horse-and-rider partnership begins with preparation, communication, and trust.”
