Royse City Police Department Investigating Use of Force Incident

ROYSE CITY, TX (Aug. 6, 2026) On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Royse City Police Department was made aware of a video circulating on social media involving a use of force. The incident occurred on Monday, August 3, 2026 around 6:30 pm when officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the community pool in the Creekside neighborhood in Royse City. When the police administration was made aware of the incident, an internal investigation was initiated. The charges on the two subjects arrested during the incident were dropped on Tuesday, August 4,2026 pending a thorough examination of all charges filed against the accused.

The officer, who is the subject of the internal investigation, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The police department does not publicly comment on internal investigations while they are taking place. Once the internal investigation is completed, the police department will release its findings and will disclose any and all actions taken.

The Royse City Police Department wants to ensure the public that we take these types of matters very seriously and we will conduct a thorough and comprehensive internal investigation into the matter.
