Student Detained at Royse City ISD Alternative Learning Center with Firearm

ROYSE CITY, TX (Aug. 25, 2026) On, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Royse City Police Department was contacted by the Royse City ISD and informed a firearm had been brought into the Alternative Learning Center. The firearm had been brought onto the campus by a student and had already been secured by RCISD Security prior to the police department becoming involved.

The Alternative Learning Center is a specialized learning program that operates at the RCISD Administration Building at 810 Old Greenville, Road Royse City, TX 75189. The campus consists of approximately 50 students in the grades 9th thru 12th.

The juvenile who was in possession of the firearm has been taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a 3rd degree Felony. There is no further information at this time.
