Still Hope Ranch awarded inaugural grant from TVEC Charitable Foundation to furnish residential shelter
KAUFMAN, TX (Sept. 8, 2026) — Still Hope Ranch, a newly established nonprofit dedicated to providing safe housing and restorative care for survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, has been awarded its first grant from the TVEC Charitable Foundation (Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative). The grant will be used to furnish the organization’s residential shelter in Kaufman County, creating a safe, stable, and dignified living environment for survivors as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Sex trafficking is not a distant problem; it is happening in our communities. Texas consistently ranks as the second-highest state in the nation for reported human trafficking cases, and Kaufman and Rockwall Counties are not exempt. Survivors in our region often escape dangerous situations only to find themselves with no safe place to live, no identification, no employment, and no support network to help them rebuild.
Still Hope Ranch exists to provide that safe place. Founded by Martha Diffee, who brings years of direct experience serving survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking in North Texas, Still Hope Ranch offers long-term residential and restorative care for women recovering from sex trafficking, exploitation, and severe abuse. True restoration touches every part of a person; body, mind, and spirit, and Still Hope Ranch provides holistic care that addresses trauma, physical needs, emotional health, and spiritual growth.
The TVEC Charitable Foundation grant will be used to furnish the organization’s three-bedroom residential home in Kaufman County, providing beds, furniture, kitchen essentials, a security system, and other items needed to make the home safe and welcoming before the first residents arrive. A safe, well-equipped home is often the first critical step toward recovery; offering not just shelter, but stability, dignity, and a foundation for healing.

Still Hope Ranch is currently completing facility repairs and anticipates welcoming its first residents in Q4 2026. The organization is actively pursuing additional funding through community grants, individual donations, a GoFundMe campaign, and its inaugural Clay Shoot fundraiser was a success in August at Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell, Texas.
