ROWLETT, TX (Sept. 10, 2026) — The Rowlett Area Chamber & Visitors Center has officially named Tamra Williams, President of the Rowlett Lions Club, the recipient of the distinguished Big “R” Pacesetter Award. The announcement was celebrated during the Chamber’s annual Hometown Heroes Awards Banquet on the evening of Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The Big “R” Pacesetter Award is presented to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, visionary initiative, and an unwavering commitment to driving the Rowlett community forward. Williams was recognized for her outstanding stewardship of the Rowlett Lions Club and her extensive personal contributions to civic and philanthropic efforts across the city.
The Rowlett Lions Club distributed nearly $46,000 in charitable donations in 2025.
The Rowlett Lions Club has funneled crucial financial support into vital community resources, including the Texas Lions Camp for Children with Disabilities, the Lions Sight & Tissue Foundation, St. Vincent de Paul, Hope in Hand Food Pantry, Rowlett Needy Children’s, and local academic scholarships.
“Receiving the Big ‘R’ Pacesetter Award is a true reflection of the collaborative spirit of our community,” said Williams. “This honor belongs just as much to the dedicated members of the Rowlett Lions Club, N.E.D.C.
