ROWLETT, TX (Oct. 5, 2026) Texas author Amanda Churchill will present her debut novel, “The Turtle House,” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, for the monthly meeting of Rowlett Reviews Book Club.
Moving between a granddaughter in 1990s Texas and her grandmother in Japan before and after World War II, “The Turtle House” is a tender story about coming of age, romance, history, and the heart’s home lost and regained.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for appetizers and fellowship, at First Christian Church, 7301 Miller Road in Rowlett.
Attendance costs $5, or join the club for $35.

Founded in 1985, our book club of more than 50 members meets on the third Tuesday of each month from September through May to hear informed, entertaining speakers describe books worth knowing. Members also donate nonperishable food items to the First Christian Church food bank.
