ROCKWALLL, TX – December 9, 2021 — The Rockwall Riptides made a big splash at the YMCA Fall Swim League Championships this past weekend, taking home 15 individual High Point Awards and the Overall Team High Point Award. The Riptides competed with more than 375 swimmers and nine teams in the competition.
“These kids have worked hard and it showed off,” said Riptides Swim Team Coach Alisha Garrett. “A special thanks to all the parent volunteers who together volunteered over 400 hours this weekend!”
The Rockwall Riptides are the competitive swim team of the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall. The program hosts tryouts each year for ages 5 to 21 years old, and those who become apart of the team reap all the amazing benefits that come with competitive swimming. Swimmers develop good endurance, flexibility and muscle toning, as well as self-confidence, self-discipline and goal setting. Those interested in joining the team may email Coach Alisha Garrett at alisha.garrett@ymcadallas.org.
