ROCKWALL, TX (May 9, 2022) Rockwall Breakfast Rotary was pleased to be involved with The Bucket Ministry to assemble packages of water filters that will be sent to third world countries to provide clean drinking water.
The community wide event was held May 7 at the offices of The Bucket Ministry on East Rusk and the goal that day was to assemble 25,000 units. The first package was assembled by Rockwall Mayor Kevin Fowler.
Teams, working two hour shifts each, placed the necessary parts for each filter in bags that will be taken to Nairobi, Kenya in the slums of Kibera. Each bag’s content will be assembled in the home of a family and they will begin drinking clean, safe water for the first time in their lives.
As important as this ministry is to the physical health of people around the world, The Bucket Ministry is a Christian evangelical organization and they are ultimately concerned with the spiritual well being of all the thousands of people they reach each year.
