Drug Take Back Initiative: Turn in unneeded meds for safe disposal

ROCKWALL, TX (Oct. 18, 2022) The Rockwall Police Department will participate in the Drug Take Back Initiative on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You may drop off unused or expired medication at the Rockwall Police Department, 205 W. Rusk St. in Rockwall. They are not able to take liquids, aerosol containers or needles.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is also accepting vape pens to be disposed of. The batteries must be removed from the vape pen. For more information about disposal of vape pens or other e-cigarette devices, go to: deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/vaping_disposal.pdf.

If you are not able to drop off your unused or expired medications on that day, there is a drop box located at the police station that is available 24 hours a day. The address is 205 W. Rusk St. and it is a red box that is to the right of the “Communications Center” entrance.
